The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to declare milk from cloned animals, and their offspring, safe to consume in January 2008.
Cascade Fresh is strongly opposed to using milk from cloned cows. Even though it will likely be several years before such milk could actually be produced, we have begun implementing protocols with our dairy farmers to ensure that the milk they supply us does not come from cloned cows or their offspring. This standard will be a condition of all future purchases by Cascade Fresh.
We see no consumer benefit from this technology and are committed to giving consumers a choice, whether or not the FDA considers the milk to be safe.
